PROMOTION Three weeks ago, at California Almonds’s California Dreaming event – which sought to bring the coastal vibe of the sunny state to chilly Hamburg – I prepared three snacks along with a group of bloggers and influencers. As you may already know, I’ve been to California several times over the past few years and even visited an almond farm to learn more about the sustainable methods used to produce these healthy nuts – you can definitely feel good about eating them. :-)

Almonds make a natural, wholesome snack – rich in nutrients without weighing you down. Go for a handful a day (28 g or approx. 23 almonds): each of these portions contains 6 g protein, 3.5 g fiber, and essential nutrients such as magnesium (76 mg), which reduces fatigue, and potassium (205 mg). In addition, you’ll get 60% of the daily requirement of vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects the body’s cells from oxidative stress. And best of all, you can carry almonds around in your pocket and snack on them whenever you’d like – a little bit of sunshine, anytime, anywhere!

Almonds make for a great energy boost (that’s usually why I eat them), but they’re also perfect for snack recipes! Today, I’m excited to share one of the snacks we made together at California Dreaming. Enjoy! :-)

Here’s the recipe:
