It’s funny how food trends work: they materialize out of nowhere, and then boom, they’re everywhere! The new kid in town is Sweet Potato Toast, which Kelsey from Little Bits of… came up after she had a craving for avocado toast but didn’t have any bread at home. Instead, she toasted some thick slices of sweet potato and used those instead. Genius! And a huge hit on the Clean Eating scene.

When toasted, the sweet potato slices become crisp on the outside and soft on the inside – so good! Sweet Potato Toast is not only more nutritious than “normal” toast, but it’s also gluten-free and can also be enjoyed by those who avoid gluten for health reasons. It can be made savory (as we’ve done here) or sweet (as you can see in this recipe).

ZUTATEN:
  • 1 sweet potato
ANLEITUNG:
  1. Wash sweet potato and pat dry. Cut lengthwise into slices 0.5 cm thick. Toast slices twice at the highest setting.
  2. Add toppings and enjoy!
